Year 10 Digital Technology
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs H. James.
Length of Course: Half-year
Course Summary:
What is Digital Technology? Technology is the application of knowledge for practical purposes to help solve an issue. It is a creative subject where we work out solutions to problems. Since we are 'digital technology' we will be learning to use computers and their applications to create these solutions.
What is this course about? As this is a one semester course (approx. 20 weeks) students will have the opportunity to explore the different strands of digital technology. During the first 14 weeks they will complete a range of different modules (which take about two weeks each) and then will have the opportunity to complete their own project (for the final 6 weeks) in a strand that interests them.
All the work will give students base skills to prepare them for Level 1 NCEA. These skills will be taught through real life examples and project work so they can be transferred to other classes and workplace environments.
