Year 13 Sports and Leadership
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr G. ODonnell.
Course Description: Students will continue to develop a range of leadership and coaching skills as well as their practical performance in a range of individual and team contexts.
Our students will be provided an opportunity to connect with the wider community, notably feeder primary schools. Students will complete vocational Unit standards with a focus on leadership, First aid (Accredited course), officiating and coaching.
Assessment: Students will be offered 4 Achievement standard credits in a practical assessment. A range of unit standards are offered to suit the needs of the group. (16-18 credits in total)
Prerequisites: Level 1 or 2 Physical Education, Sports Performance or Sport & Leadership. A strong interest in coaching young children and leadership.
Recommended Prior Learning
Level 1 or 2 Physical Education, Sports Performance or Sport & Leadership. A strong interest in coaching young children and leadership.
