YOU CANNOT SELECT Year 11 Sport Science and Performance IF YOU SELECT THIS PROGRAMME
This course will explore a diverse range of topics in, through and about movement. The goal is for all students to understand participation in movement enriches our lives and movement is integral to Hauora. Students will be provided with opportunities to develop interpersonal skills and motor-skills/tactical awareness. They will identify barriers and enablers to enhance their Hauora, now and in the future. Finally, they will work towards developing leadership skills both inside and outside of the class environment. The sports/movement contexts will be decided by the class to explore these key themes in a predominantly practical setting.
Topics include:
- Developing interpersonal skills
- Motor Skill development
- Tactical Awareness
- Ways to enhance Hauora
- Leadership and Sport Management
Please note:
Students cannot select this course and 'Outdoor Education' or 'Sport Science and Performance'
Recommended Prior Learning
Active participation in Year 10 PE. Students must have upheld Motueka High School values to the standard.
