Teacher in Charge: Mr S. Bermingham.
The Year 10 programme enables students to develop knowledge and skills about what can influence their well-being and that of others. Students continue to apply the key competencies of the New Zealand Curriculum to set goals and measure improvement in physical and health contexts. Furthermore, students shape, question and challenge a range of attitudes and values in varying practical and theory contexts.
Students explore a range of influencing factors on an adolescent, which could be health harming (risk factors), or health enhancing (protective factors). They then explore the consequences (both positive and negative) of these influences, in order to communicate strategies for reducing risk and maintaining protection.
Practical activities include, but are not limited to:
Physical Education, Outdoor Education & Health
